Odoo is a popular open-source modular ERP with apps for sales, inventory, accounting, manufacturing, and more. The Odoo Fleet app provides a basic vehicle management module where you can record vehicle details, track fuel fill-ups, manage service contracts, log odometer readings, and assign drivers to vehicles.

The Problem

What the Odoo Fleet Module Cannot Do

Odoo Has the Records. Not the Real-Time View.

  • No real-time GPS tracking. Odoo Fleet stores vehicle data but has no GPS integration. You cannot see where any vehicle is right now. It is a database of vehicle records, not a live fleet map.
  • No route optimization. Odoo Inventory creates delivery orders, but there is no engine to optimize the driving sequence across multiple stops. Drivers plan their own routes or follow the order they were given.

  • 1Connect via Odoo External API. Authenticate with your Odoo instance using XML-RPC or JSON-RPC. Locate2u reads sale.order, stock.picking, and res.partner models. Works with Odoo Community and Enterprise, versions 14+.
  • 2Configure delivery order sync. Map Odoo delivery orders (stock.picking) to Locate2u delivery jobs. Define which picking types and warehouse locations trigger the sync. Link Odoo Fleet vehicle records to Locate2u vehicle profiles.
